The newmusic]ensemble make their debut with a composer tribute to the living legend Sofia Gubaidulina. Included will be new music from Dutch composers Jord Homan and Jan Bijkerk amongst others, as well as the incomparable saxophone quartet XAS by Iannis Xenakis. The ensemble is built for the sole purpose of performing modern music, and with the aim of promoting composers to write for the ensemble, is presenting this composer-focus on one of the greats of contemporary music.
