Bert van der Sluijs, Douwe Buwalda en Linda Anderson

Het autonome werk van Bert van der Sluijs (1951) bestaat uit het samenstellen van ruimtelijke collages. In zijn beelden, veelal gemaakt van gevonden voorwerpen, strijden ironie, vreugde en beklemming om de voorrang. Zijn werk heeft een theatrale uitstraling. Niet vreemd, want als vormgever ontwerpt en bouwt hij decors voor theater, film en TV. Daarnaast ondersteunt hij, artistiek en technisch, kunstprojecten van collega’s.
Douwe Buwalda (1950) brengt beeld en poëzie samen in zijn werk, waarbij hij gebruik maakt van alle mogelijke middelen en media, behalve het boek. Hij legt zich toe op de spanning tussen dynamiek en reflectie, die via verstilling en concentratie tot haar recht komt. Het werk neemt een gedaante aan, vormt een geweten, gaat ademen als een huid, in iedere omgeving opnieuw.
Bert van der Sluijs werkt samen met Douwe Buwalda onder de naam ANDartproductions. Op dit moment exposeren ze in Museum de Fundatie - Kasteel Nijenhuis en doen een performance i.s.m. met Linda Anderson in Weg van Kunst te Kampen.
Linda Anderson (1946) came last year, after thirty years painting, as artist in residence to the Netherlands from Buffalo, New York and has returned for a second year: I met Bert and Douwe at Multi Solo 2008 and we found we had a lot in common with our feelings about art and our own art theories. We decided to work together, and now for the Multi Solo exhibits at Tetem II. In Kampen, we will present more work with a performance for Weg van Kunst. Our collaborations continue this fall in the USA and Canada.

Celebrating their working together Bert has built an arbor. Its pillars will be connected through a circular iron tube on which Linda hangs her fabric banners painted in strong wind. That arbor combines Douwe's poetry in iron sculpture titled Goud op snee with Linda’s idea of the flowing compositions. The idea for the Goud op snee started as a poetic installation in a town gate end 2007. The sentence ’aan weerskant spelt weerstand’ was placed on both sides of an embrasure in the wall and in this way became visible and readable from inside and outside the gate. A few months later the text is transformed as an iron sculpture to be exhibited in de Maagdenkapel te Oudenaarde Belgium. Together Bert, Douwe and Linda combine sculpture and poetry with an idea that for Linda began last summer, in contact with Ludy Feyen in Leiden. Linda made a fabric banner series with changing compositions for her willow airstrip. Painting them in strong wind, the paintings are loose and open. Continuing a similar idea with Bert and Douwe, are vertical banners painted in the wind. The effect is a free and open feeling. Linda especially liked combining the banners and letting them overlap visually to create compositions of their own, here in a vertical pattern. 		Goud op snee, 2008 gemengde media, 201 x 103 x 14 cm
